WHCI steel bands were selected for the Martin Luther King Celebrations at
Roy Thompson Hall and Hamilton Place since 2005, performing alongside
JUNO-Award winners
Jacksoul, In Essence, and Jully Black for audiences of close to 4000
people. WHCI's numerous performances include: Caribana;
TVO Kids, High School Rush, Black History concerts
at schools all over the GTA, Humber College, Sheridan College and
University of Toronto; receptions, Principal's conference, hotel
receptions, many church services,
corporate receptions, and many fund-raising events within the community.
In addition, WHCI steel bands were selected to play at the Toronto
Centre for the Performing Arts where they were part of a live CD
recording along with WHCI's exciting Motown Band.
WHCI Steel Bands enjoy an wonderful partnership with
the Naparima Alumni Association of Canada (N.A.A.C.) and their steel
band "Panache". The NAAC provides financial assistance with steel pan
purchases, tuning costs, student bursaries and awards in return for
using WHCI's top-notch facilities, instruments and recording
studio/rehearsal room. Please see
